Clutch and Transmission Inc, today called CATCO, was found by Art Peterson in 1949.  In 1953, Art’s son Harvey, joined the company and started adding products, services and locations.  Today, CATCO is proud to be a 3rd generation company being run by Harvey’s son Tom.  Harvey’s 2 daughters Lia & Jane are also active in the family business.

After 60 years, CATCO has grown into 19 retail locations stretching from Chicago IL to Fargo ND.  CATCO also operates a remanufacturing facility in St Paul MN dedicated to remanufacturing transmissions, differentials, automatic transmissions under the Excalibur brand and relining brake shoes.

Harvey Peterson started out not knowing anything about truck parts, but he knew that he wanted to be the best, not just be there like every other supplier.  “We’re in business not to just supply parts to our customers”, says Tom Peterson, President & CEO, “we’re in business to supply long term value to our customers by only offering the best products, inventory and knowledgeable people”.
